I recently spent the week at the Sanoviv Medical Institute in Baja, Mexico, and learned to make this fantastic smoothie. It was so good, I had to share it with all of you.
On a detox we still need healthy fats, protein, and fiber! I use pea protein here because when you're detoxing, it's nice to choose the most easily digestible and gentle proteins possible. The chia seeds add fiber to keep you all sorts of regular, and there's plenty of sweetness from coconut and pear to make this an absolute crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients -1 cup almond milk -1/2 pear -1/4 avocado, peeled -1 packed cup spinach -1/4 cup coconut water -1 tsp chia seeds -1 scoop pea protein powder (or substitute hemp or brown rice protein) -1 cup pure water (or less if desired)
Blend all ingredients, except water, until smooth. Then put the blender on slow and pour in water until the smoothie reaches desired consistency. You can make it so thick you'll eat with a spoon, or as thin as juice. Top with your favorite berries for a splash of color!
